I am a Senior Lecturer in Ethics and Public Governance at the Wits School of Governance, Johannesburg, South Africa, and an Iso Lomso Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (2019 - 2022). Before joining the Wits School of Governance in May 2021, I was a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Fort Hare. Previously, I was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute (Sept 2015 - Dec 2016). I completed my DPhil in 2015 at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, working with Prof. David Miller and Prof. Cecile Fabre.

My current research focuses on global injustice and citizenship. My account of a state-based but globally-oriented citizenship is published in the monograph, Citizenship in a Globalised World. Other research interests include South African citizenship law and practice, political consumerism, and methods of political theory.
