I am a senior researcher at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Zurich, and a post-doctoral fellow at the University of St. Gallen. My research and teaching focuses on comparative politics. I have worked on the transformation of cleavages and party systems in Western Europe and on the rise of right-wing populist parties. Currently, I study cleavage structures and evolving citizen-party linkages in Latin America, as well as the politicization of the European integration process by national political parties.
